Alice Lee Holland

Deeper than Dancing Creative Producer

ABOUT

Alice is an Australian dance artist with a breadth of experience as a dancer, choreographer and director. Originally from Boorloo/Perth, she has worked across the country for Chunky Move, Circa, Strut, Tasdance, Steps and Buzz Dance Theatre (now Co:3), Dancehouse, the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), QL2 and Stompin’. She is a graduate of WAAPA (Bachelor of Arts, Dance) and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (Master of Fine Arts, Performance and Choreography).


Alice has mentored countless young dance artists as sessional lecturer at WAAPA and the VCA, and as Artistic Director of STEPS Youth Dance Company. During her tenure, STEPS received seven nominations for the Australian Dance Awards and won in 2015 for Fights and Flights – and performed at the Dance and the Child International Congress in Taiwan 2012 and Copenhagen 2015. In 2019 Alice was the Artistic Director for the Australian Youth Dance Festival – International Revolutions per Minute.


As Resident Director for Circa, Alice was instrumental to Depart, commissioned by the London International Festival of Theatre for the Tower Hamlet Cemetery Park, which involved 150 performers across circus, dance and music. In 2019 she created SIMULCAST for Chunky Move at the 2019 Dance Massive Festival, which featured 300 dancers age 8-80.


Alice relocated to Gurambilbarra/Townsville in 2019 to work with Dancenorth Australia.
