Amber McCartney

Amber is a Melbourne-based dancer who graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2012. This year Amber performed in Chunky Moves ‘Accumulation’ tour for the NGV Triennial Extra, Prue Lang’s ‘Yoni’, for the Kier Choreographic Award, Jonathan Homsey’s ‘Mx.Red’ and James Batchelor’s ‘Proscenium’ and ‘Deepspace’ at APAM, MONA and Salamanca Arts Festival. She recently premiered her work ‘||’ for Transit Dance. In 2017 she performed in Antony Hamilton’s durational installation, ’Number of the Machine’, Lang’s ’Stellar Project’ for Dance Massive, Niharika Senapati’s ‘Imagination / Vacation’, and ’Redshift’ for Batchelor’s Next Move. Amber has toured globally with Batchelor’s ‘Escapes to the Infinite’, ‘Violence’ and ‘Multiplication’. She has created work on YellowWheel and The Space, as well as performing her own piece ‘The Air Reef’ for Lucy Guerin’s Pieces for Small Spaces.
